TAKE A WALK
Take a walk as a family around your neighborhood or at the park. As you walk, talk about how the Israelites must have felt walking away from their homes to Assyria. God let this happen because His people disobeyed Him over and over again. God loved His people too much to let them keep disobeying Him. God loves us and wants us to obey Him too.

GOD’S GRACE
Have a family discussion about why we should obey God. We should obey God because He made us, He loves us, and His plans are good. We shouldn’t obey God because we are afraid of punishment or to try to earn God’s love. Talk about how Jesus, God’s son, died once and for all punishment from sin. God’s grace and forgiveness is a gift to us. We just need to accept His gift. Ask your kids if this is a step of faith they would like to take in order to join God’s family. Take time to pray together as a family and ask for God to forgive your sin and help you to obey Him more.
